While the pods are 100% compostable, they are certified to compost in a commercial facility as its the only place where they can control all aspects of composting for testing. The pods compost back to nutrient rich soil in 41 days in a commericial facility. We do have many home composters using Tayst and composting with no issue, but claim the period to compost is longer.
